Symfony Tools

VS Code extension

Symfony Tools

Run Symfony commands from your editor’s sidebar.

For Symfony developers who want common project commands close at hand.

Symfony Tools

Workflow example

symfony server:start
php bin/console cache:clear
php bin/console make:controller

A sidebar action runs its corresponding project command.

How it fits your workflow

Open a Symfony project, choose a command in the Symfony Tools sidebar and run it in the current terminal. Commands cover the local server, cache, Doctrine, code generation and front-end build tasks.

Get started

Install Symfony Tools from Visual Studio Marketplace, then open a Symfony project in VS Code. Symfony CLI, PHP and npm must be available for the commands you use.

These products are installed separately from the NDNCI workspace. Check each product’s documentation for requirements, licensing and any provider costs.
